Should children be raised to co-operate or to compete?

Should children be raised to compete or to co-operate?

There are two ways the parents can raise their own children to make them successful in their future life and set their own place in the society. The two ways are competition and co-operation. In my opinion, raising the children in a co-operative way is better, but competition is also needed.

First of all, I will talk about co-operation. People need to co-operate with each other so no one can live alone. Teamwork is very important for the children that they can benefit from each other. In addition, they will improve their skills in communication. Furthermore, children will gain confidence and will be useful for the society in the future. Working in group will help children to strength friends’ relationships between themselves. Last but not least, they can co-operate in solving homework and studying for exams.

On the other hand, competition also is important thing that can add some fun for the class. It will encourage children to compete each other that they want to get high grades so they will get good jobs in the future. If someone is competitive, he will become creative and good leader for a team because competitive person does not accept loss. For example, competition in sports like playing football is vey fantastic that make players like the game.

In conclusion, although I prefer the children to be raised in a co-operative way I would add that competition is needed also. This is because when people can be competitive and co-operative at the same time they will have a very successful life.

Economic growth vs environmental protection

Should our first priority be worldwide economic growth or reducing the rate of global warming?

World widely economical growth has a huge contact to our environment, in unkindness the economic is increasing. In this essay I will talk about wither we should the main concern be worldwide money-making growing or declining the rate of global warming.

The economic are increasing for many reasons. First reason is that the money so that people get a chance to survive, another terms the employment opportunities besides providing better life for our children. Second reason is that to improve the living standard level. Not only that, also the growth on development on the education and technology standard. On the other hand these growing have a huge force to our environment. First of all, the CO2 which is mainly results of the developed as well as transportation. In addition it cause rising on the temperature. after that, in fact the increasing on the sea level which is due to melting the ice because of increasing on the temperature as I have mention on result of CO2. Moreover, the rise on sea level will cause flood. At the end, due to rising in temperature has led to drought for example which is happening in Somalia.

Finally, I would say that the both have important points. But in my opinion I am agree on growth of the economic. Because highly recommended for each family to rise there living standard. That to include better education and medical, but the globalization should do the best to trim down these impacts to our environment to have a great future economy with safe live.

Population growth 1750 to 2150

World population growth

The line chart shows us the world population growth in richer and poorer countries based on the United Nations. World population prospects, the 1998 Revision and estimates by the population Reference Bureau between 1750 and 2150.

In 1750 the total world population was less than 1 billion but the population of more developed countries was only about 25% of the whole population while the population of less developed countries was about 75% of the total. The total population rose to 6.1 billion but the population of more developed countries was only about a quarter of the total by 2000. The estimation is that by 2150 the total population will increase to 10 billion and the less developed countries will be 10 times more than more developed countries.

Finally, the graph shows that the total population has increased and will continue to increase and the increase has been and will be more in the less developed countries.

Mobile phones & driving

Should using mobile phones while driving be banned?

There have been many studies done to show that people who use mobile phones while driving are four times more likely to have accidents. Let us be serious, it is impossible to look at the road and read messages at the same time. Nobody can concentrate on two things at the same time. In this situation, when the driver receives or sends a message, he cannot concentrate on the road. As a result of this, you may cross a red traffic light which can cause a very dangerous accident.

The mobile phone distracts drivers in two ways; it causes physical distraction and cognitive distraction. Physical distraction occurs when drivers have to at the same time operate their mobile phone (reach, dial, hold) and operate their vehicle. Cognitive distraction occurs when a driver has to divert part of his/her attention from driving to the telephone conversation. However, the ability to divide one’s attention between two simultaneous tasks is limited. Mobile phone use while driving could therefore negatively affect driving performance. The results of using a mobile phone while driving can increase the risk of being involved in a road crash up to four times.

In conclusion, I think that the mobile phone is important in our life but a lot of studies show that using a mobile phone while driving is a main reason of accidents. We should put a strict law for using mobile phones while driving especially when people don’t care. However, I think the roads would be safer if mobile phones were banned.

Traffic congestion and parking problems in Abu Dhabi

Problem & solution essay.

Nowadays Abu Dhabi suffers from traffic congestion and parking problems which is a serious problem in Abu Dhabi. In this essay I am going to give some of the causes and solutions of traffic congestion and parking problems.

There are many causes of traffic congestion and parking problems. The first cause is the increasing number of population in the last 10 years because Abu Dhabi has a lot of careers and high salaries. A second cause is that the summer climate in the UAE so that people cannot walk to move from one place to another place. The temperature sometimes reaches 45⁰C to 50⁰C which makes drivers more stressed and nervous. A third cause is tourism which leads to more taxis and buses. The last cause is more female drivers and younger drivers who do not have enough experience of driving.

There are causes of traffic congestion and parking problems and also there are many solutions to traffic congestion and parking problems. One of these solutions is a metro. The metro will decrease the number of cars and the number of accidents. Another solution is making overpasses and underpasses instead of light signals and roundabouts. The last solution is making underground parking or having several floors for parking.

Finally the metro is a good solution but it is expensive. In my opinion I think overpasses and underpasses will be a good solution and will decrease the traffic congestion and parking problems in Abu Dhabi.
